DyneAquaculture (DyneAqua) has invested considerable resources during the past seven years developing a superior model for raising Atlantic salmon in recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS). While other land-based ventures have made their ambitions known, we have pragmatically investigated, planned and maintained a low profile. This calculated approach reflects the DyneAqua vision of transforming the US seafood market and becoming the most efficient, profitable and sustainable salmon company in the world.

The DyneAqua team includes highly experienced managers, proven operating talent, and best-in-class partner companies from around the world. These include aqua feed production, RAS technology, general contracting and seafood distribution.

THE DYNEAQUACULTURE MODEL IS BUILT ON

THE DYNEAQUACULTURE STRATEGY WILL DELIVER SALMON AT THE LOWEST-COST-TO-PRODUCE PER KG IN THE INDUSTRY, REGARDLESS OF METHOD, DUE TO:

FEED COSTS

DyneAqua will have a meaningful cost advantage in procuring high-performance aqua feeds. This is made possible through a unique set of partner arrangements.  Feed accounts for more than 50% of the total cost of raising salmon.

SCALE

DyneAqua will have at least a 15-20% cost-to-build and operate advantage versus any competitor. This is made possible through the significant application of scale. Specifically, a high capacity hatchery, capable of raising salmon smolt up to 1kg, will supply four 1,200MT RAS grow-out facilities (4,800 MT total annual output). This platform is not only less costly to build and operate than any other land-based system based on $/kg raised, it is also unsurpassed in speed to harvest.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY

The DyneAqua model uses approximately 10% less energy to raise salmon and bring them to market. This is the result of superior technology and equipment as well as the location of its facilities.

DISTRIBUTION EFFICIENCY

US RAS production represents a significant reduction in transportation costs versus salmon airfreighted from Norway and Chile. This local production and distribution results in a substantial carbon footprint reduction.

GOVERNMENT SUPPORT

The state and local government receptivity to DyneAqua has been quite positive. Mississippi has proven business friendly and flexible. The incentive package for the initial site in Mississippi exceeds $40M over a ten-year period. This package will contribute materially to the DyneAqua low cost model.

LOOKING AHEAD

DyneAquaculture believes that diners will increasingly “vote their beliefs and convictions one forkful at a time.” We will raise healthy non-GMO Atlantic salmon humanely and under ideal conditions.  Consumers will appreciate great tasting salmon and the knowledge that it was raised with the lowest possible impact on the environment.
